About the only wildlife I see in the yards of my neighborhood are lots of songbirds and a lot of squirrels. I know there must be rabbits, but I rarely see any. I suspect the rabbits just know my dogs would give them chase and they stay clear of my yard. Or perhaps they wait until we have all retired for the night and they come out in the moonlight. It would nice to see one every now and then – I think rabbits are cool little creatures.

I’ve been waiting to become a mom my whole life and our little girl is finally about to come home. My husband and I had really distressing fertility issues for years and we got to a point where we thought we may not actually have kids. But then my sister suggested we look into adoption and low and behold, we were approved and our little girl is going to be in our arms in just two weeks! We’ve known about her arrival for about 6 months now so we kicked it into high gear getting ready. I can’t wait to become a mom but I’m really scared about what to expect because I am an only childand didn’t have any siblings growing up – I’m pretty sure I’ve only held about three or four babies in my entire life! But I know that mom stuff comes more naturally than I think it will and hopefully it won’t take too long for me to get the hang of it. I’m particularly worried about my husband because he works long hours and I know he’s nervous about having to be away from the baby a lot when she first comes home. But I keep telling him we’ll take it as it comes and you know, he’s got all the ingredients to make him a great dad. I love that we’ve been so together throughout this whole fertility journey and you know, one of these days soon we’re going to end it and get to become parents of our own!
